It took me four years to bring life to the world of Maradonia once again.
As a teenager, I wrote the original story of Maradonia, filled with mermaids, dragons, and an epic battle between good and evil. Little did I know back then, that story would become the foundation for my new novel titled, "Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal".
From Inspiration to Publication
Some of my followers are familiar with my long journey of pursuing my dreams as a writer and how my endeavors originally began with the first Maradonia.
It all began with my father, who encouraged me to pursue writing after reading one of the stories I wrote in my notebook. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of storytelling, and with my father's encouragement and my mother's collaboration of artwork, I began the story of Maradonia. With each chapter I wrote, my passion for writing grew, until eventually, it became more than just a hobby—it became my dream. And now, years later, my father's belief in me still gives me the courage to pursue my passion, and for that, I will be forever thankful.
During that time, my team and I organized book signings and I delivered speeches to fellow students. Most of my campaigns involved traveling to different public schools across Florida. My goal was not only to share my story and passion for writing but also to inspire others to follow their dreams fearlessly. I wanted to show them that no dream is too big, no goal too daunting, and that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. It was an incredible experience connecting with young readers, sharing my journey, and encouraging them to pursue their own creative aspirations.
Indeed, my story became a testament to the fact that no dream is too big. Through four years of hard work, perseverance, and pushing through countless failures, I transformed my childhood dream into reality. "Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal" is not just a book; it's proof that with dedication and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. And even though my first book didn't reach the potential I wanted back then, despite the feeling of failure, I thought: why not try again and make it better?
As I re-read the original Maradonia, memories flooded back, and with them, the desire to revisit the original magical world I had created when I was only fifteen years old.
I was inspired to take my original story and transform it into something bigger, something better! And so, the rewriting process began. It wasn't easy. I faced countless challenges along the way. There were moments when I doubted myself, moments when I felt like giving up. But through it all, I kept going. Because I knew that this story was worth telling.
"Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal" is a story of adventure, of friendship, and of the eternal battle between light and darkness. It's a story that I poured my heart and soul into, a story that I hope will captivate readers of all ages.
Now, as I hold the finished book in my hands, I can't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's been a long journey, but it's been worth it. And now, I'm excited to reintroduce the world of Maradonia with all of you.
About Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal:
Siblings Maya and Joey are forced to embark on a perilous journey when they are shipwrecked off the coast of Maradonia.
After encountering fierce warrior mermaids, the siblings find out that their only way home is through a teleportation portal . . . which doesn’t work!
If they want to get home, the siblings realize they must join the mermaids and find a way to revitalize the portal before it falls into the wrong hands. Just when all seems to go smoothly, a United States military expedition arrives on the shores of Maradonia and begins their own search for the portal.
To make matters even worse, the Dark Realm declares war on the mermaids. Fighting one enemy is bad enough, but contending with two invasive opponents may prove too much for the mermaids.
In Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal, Maya and Joey are in for more trouble than they ever imagined: the ultimate battle for control of the universe.
